RiseWise is a parent-managed mobile learning app for children ages 6–14.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and what choices parents have.
2. What We Collect
Parent account information
- Parent email address and authentication data via our auth provider.
- Consent status, consent date, verification status, and policy version.
- Consent audit records and IP address where needed for compliance and security.
Child profile information
- Child display name, avatar selection/avatar URL, and preferred content language.
- Lesson progress, attempts, answer summaries, and daily play metrics.
- XP, streaks, badges, and leaderboard rank.
Technical information
- Authentication state, timestamps, and limited server logs for operations and security.
3. What Parents Control
- Review personal information collected from or about their child.
- Request correction, revoke consent, and request child data deletion.
- Stop further collection and use of child information where applicable.
4. What Kids Can Do
- Use lessons and quizzes in a parent-managed account.
- Earn XP, streaks, badges, and leaderboard rank.
- View progress tied to their child profile.
Children cannot create independent accounts.
5. Data Usage
Key clause: We use data only to operate and improve core app features, verify consent, support parents, and maintain security/compliance logs.
We do not sell personal information or use child data for targeted advertising.
6. Parental Consent (COPPA)
Key clause: Children under 13 may use RiseWise only after verified parental consent.
- If consent is revoked, child game activity is blocked.
- Parents can request deletion of child profile and related activity data.
- Renewed consent may be required after material policy changes.
8. Retention, Security, and Deletion
- We retain information only as long as needed for services, compliance, disputes, and security.
- We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards.
- No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
- Parents may request deletion of child data per our deletion workflow.
9. Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If changes materially affect child information or consent practices, we may require renewed parental consent.
